BLUEFIRE M – Dynamics of a New Generation

With the ban on speed gluing, rubber development faced a major challenge: how can the unparalleled combination of spin, catapult effect, and ball feel be brought back in a modern form?

DONIC provides the answer with the  M Series. Two technological innovations, based on a lengthy rubber development process, form the core of this evolution:

  • Innovative large-pored, hyper-elastic blue sponge – for maximum elasticity and powerful energy transfer
  • Optimized pimple geometry – increases flexibility and gives the rubber a dynamic impact feel

The result is a table tennis rubber that combines speed with precise control. Explosive topspins, noticeable dynamics, and a pleasantly soft ball contact make the BLUEFIRE M the ideal choice for variable allround and offensive, spin-oriented players.

The memory of the speed-glue era fades away – with BLUEFIRE M, a new era of table tennis begins.

SPONGE STRUCTURE

CONVENTIONAL FINE-PORED SPONGE

  • Large-pored power sponge structure with very thin, highly elastic cell walls, available in four sponge hardnesses:
M1 Turbo: 50°, M1: 47.5°, M2: 45°, M3: 40°
  • The compression of the new blue BLUEFIRE sponge creates a significant dynamics upgrade at ball impact.

Regardless of pimple geometry, the large-pored sponge structure allows the ball to penetrate deeply into the rubber, and thus forms the basis for a powerful speed boost when the ball is catapulted out.

BLUEFIRE M1 TURBO (in mm)

  • Relatively long and thin, very flexible pimple necks with large spacing between them
  • Geometry that enhances the catapult effect at ball impact and promotes a soft ball contact feel
  • The pimple geometry of the BLUEFIRE M1 Turbo features slightly wider pimple heads, resulting in a harder ball impact, greater spin dynamics, and a more pronounced arc

The thinner and longer the pimple necks and the greater the distance between pimples, the more flexible the pimple heads are at ball impact.

The Relationship Between Compression and Dynamics

Diagram 1 illustrates the increased compression created at ball impact by the high flexibility of the long, thin pimples in combination with the porous sponge structure.

In comparison, Diagram 2 shows a conventional rubber with significantly reduced compression of the pimple heads and sponge.

The increased compression generated by the flexible structures of the BLUEFIRE M Series leads to:

  • a soft, sensitive ball contact
  • extended ball contact time
  • intense ball feedback
  • greater dynamics when catapulting the ball out
  • improved control values despite high dynamics

Precise Stroke Feedback Through Targeted Vibration Transmission

At the moment of impact, the ball is clearly and directly perceptible. This ensures a pleasantly soft feel and an exceptionally intense ball sensation, with excellent feedback. Despite the pronounced catapult effect, the BLUEFIRE M remains very sensitive and controllable at all times.

Minimized Energy Loss, Maximized Striking Power

More power with every stroke: The large-pored, highly elastic sponge structure works perfectly with the flexible pimple geometry and releases enormous energy at ball impact. The result is an explosive catapult effect, with noticeably more speed and pronounced trajectory curvature – exactly the advantage needed after the speed-glue ban.

The greater the energy loss on ball impact, the weaker the catapult effect when the ball is released.

Ball Trajectory Comparison

BLUEFIRE M vs. ACUDA S

The perfect interaction between flexible pimple geometry and the highly elastic BLUESPONGE is clearly illustrated in the diagram. With BLUEFIRE M, this results in a longer, more powerful ball trajectory, even from mid-distance.
The Acuda series focuses slightly more on spin and a more curved trajectory.

Players from lower divisions generally do not strike the ball as precisely as professional players. With more solid ball contact, BLUEFIRE M generates a strong catapult effect but remains easier to control for most players thanks to excellent ball feedback and a flatter trajectory.

The stronger the catapult effect, the more powerful and farther the ball flies – for offensive players who want to surprise their opponents.

Advantages for popular mid-distance topspin play

  • Increased catapult effect and longer trajectory improve play from mid-distance
  • Improved grip and pronounced trajectory curvature allow the ball to clear the net reliably

Mid-distance topspin players appreciate the BLUEFIRE M: the increased catapult effect enables safe and composed play under pressure, even from positions further away from the table.

SUITABILITY

  • For all players who used speed glue in the past and want to revive the elasticity and dynamics of former times
  • While the M1 and M1 Turbo variants are designed for offensive play styles, M2 and M3 are perfect for controlled allround play
  • BLUEFIRE M2 and M3 offer excellent ball feedback and are ideal for allround players who need strong feedback in both active and passive situations, especially in blocking, countering, and service/return play
  • M1 Turbo is suitable for players with very good technique who require a more direct, slightly harder feel for maximum spin
  • Also ideal for mid-distance players, as they provide the necessary dynamics for powerful yet controlled strokes
  • For players satisfied with Acuda but who occasionally want a bit more speed and a longer trajectory
  • Suitable for players who find the BLUESTORM series a bit too direct and fast – the BLUEFIRE series offers the ideal balance between control and dynamics
