Playing style and strengths
Martin Allegro stands for a dynamic, powerful and consistently offensive style of play. The Belgian left-hander looks to take the initiative early and control rallies from the very beginning. Rather than relying on long exchanges, one of his greatest strengths is his ability to create pressure within the first few strokes and force his opponents into quick decisions.
His varied and spin-loaded serves are a particularly important weapon. With an excellent feel for spin and placement, Martin repeatedly creates the ideal conditions for his first attack. The combination of dangerous serves, an alert receive game and a fast opening attack makes him particularly difficult to read.
Once the rally opens up, his powerful forehand topspin is one of his biggest strengths. Martin can increase the pace early, play forward with plenty of spin and, as a left-hander, create additional angles. His excellent touch and quick decision-making allow him to recognize attacking opportunities early and use them decisively.
His qualities also come into their own in doubles, particularly in serving, receiving and launching the first attack. The combination of dangerous serves, a strong forehand topspin, heavy spin and a pronounced attacking instinct makes Martin Allegro a player who can apply pressure from the very first ball and actively dictate the game.
