Playing style and strengths
Esteban Dorr stands for intelligent, aggressive and versatile offensive table tennis. The French left-hander excels at taking the initiative early and putting his opponents under pressure right from the start.
One of his greatest strengths is his aggressive backhand. With fast and powerful shots, Dorr can dictate the pace and give his opponents very little time to develop their own game. He combines his compact and reliable backhand with a powerful forehand, making him dangerous on both wings.
Besides speed and dynamics, Dorr is particularly known for his excellent tactical understanding. He operates close to the table, reads situations quickly and is able to adapt his game to different opponents. His variation, clever placement and quick changes of rhythm make him difficult to predict.
His game intelligence is particularly evident in doubles. Together with Florian Bourrassaud, Dorr has established himself among the international elite, winning bronze at the 2025 World Championships. The pair also reached No. 3 in the world doubles ranking.
